‘Gadar 2’ vs. ‘OMG 2’ box office clash begins today: See day one collection estimates

Moviegoers are giddy as they head to the theaters today to see the debut of two sequels, ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2′. The box office forecasts are already causing a stir, and the stakes are high given their prequels’ iconic stature. 

According to trade analysts, ‘Gadar 2’, the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster, is expected to debut to an astounding Rs. 30-35 crore on day one, while ‘OMG 2’ is expected to earn between Rs. 7 and 9 crore.

‘Gadar 2’ is projected to gross roughly Rs 25 crore on its first day, according to trade analyst Girish Johar. ‘OMG 2’, on the other hand, is expected to gross between Rs 10-15 crore on its first day.

According to film critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Gadar 2 would likely earn between Rs 30 and Rs 35 crore on its opening day and between Rs 120 and Rs 130 crore in net domestic box office. OMG 2, on the other hand, could generate roughly Rs 80.96 lakh at the box office.

‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, was a spectacular box office triumph. Because of the legacy of the megahit prequel, ‘Gadar 2’ has received a lot of attention and anticipation. Anil Sharma’s film is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Shaktimaan Talwar wrote the period action drama.

‘OMG 2’, on the other hand, follows ‘Oh My God,’ a satirical commentary on religious dogmas and superstitions that was praised for its daring topic and great performances. Despite the fact that its predecessor was a sleeper hit, the sequel, directed by the brilliant Akshay Kumar, is likely to open between Rs. 7 and 9 crore.

‘OMG 2’ was supposed to compete with Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s Animal. However, due to a change in release dates, this has been avoided. Amit Rai wrote and directed the film. Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, Arun Govil, and Govind Namdev play important parts.
